Winter is almost over and, shortly, we may welcome spring and its warmer temperatures but that does not mean that the cold and rain are a vague memory. On the contrary, bad weather is always around the corner and thinking about a vacation, to the sun and the sea is almost therapeutic. Tourism has opened up to so many opportunities over the past few years. Not only has it opened up more and more to LGBT or LGBT friendly destinations but even during the winter it offers many possibilities for those seeking sunshine even in the cold months. Of course, planning a trip to the other side of the world is not easy and it is not that cheap either, but sometimes it is nice to be able to travel even if only with imagination. Therefore, we have chosen for you 4 destinations-strictly LGBT-for all winter sun lovers. These are popular destinations that offer sun, sea, local traditions but also luxury resots and one-of-a-kind experiences. They are perfect for a couple’s trip but also for those who likes to travel solo, since these destinations offer so much fun for singles.

Rio de Janeiro

It is the seaside jewel of Latin America where glamour, beauty and entertainment converge. Cradled between lush mountains and sparkling sea, Rio de Janeiro is nicknamed “The Marvelous City,” and it truly lives up to its nickname. Before its rise as a global gay destination, Rio was the hotspot for celebrities and celebrities. Its roots go back to Portuguese explorers who mistook Guanabara Bay for a river in 1502, christening it “Rio de Janeiro” meaning “river of January.” From being a center for Portuguese settlers to becoming the capital of a kingdom fleeing Napoleon, Rio’s historical heritage is rich and varied. Because of this, same-sex marriage-legalized in Hawaii in 2013-has allowed the islands to become increasingly attractive as a destination for gay travelers. It is one of the best destinations for gay weddings and honeymoons. The weather in Hawaii is perfect year-round. It is wonderful for a trip in April, May, September, and October since these are probably the most pleasant times to visit.

Cyprus

Cyprus is a culture-rich island where East meets West, the perfect escape for a sun-soaked LGBT beach vacation. The island has 340 days of sunshine a year and is a short flight from most European hubs. Cyprus is divided into 6 main districts: Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos. Most gay visitors tend to stay Paphos or Limassol. Both are popular with LGBT bathers and those who enjoy nudism. Each city, however, has its own atmosphere and it is possible to combine a vacation in both destinations. Limassol is especially hectic on weekends, when locals go on the hunt for fun. But Cyprus is also beautiful for its sun, sea and good food

Called the Island of Spells, it is well known as one of the most gay-friendly Caribbean islands on the planet, where warm trade winds blow and the pace of life is slow and pleasant. Puerto Rico’s gay life is centered on the capital, San Juan. The city has a vibrant gay scene that caters to all gusti. The island is the perfect place for those visitors looking to enjoy unique culture, cuisine and nightlife. It has a tropical climate, virtually guaranteeing beach weather during your trip. The island’s peak season is between November and February (which is about how long the island’s vacation season lasts), so if you are planning your stay on those dates be sure to book your hotel in advance.
